    Job Description

    About the company

Steadfast Health was founded to establish a new standard of substance use disorder (SUD) care. Recognizing that traditional treatment methods often fall short of reaching patients when they’re most in need, Steadfast is relentlessly focused on making low-barrier, high quality care accessible to all.

At our Winston-Salem clinic we will provide Office-Based Addiction Treatment (OBAT) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) level services, so patients can receive medical care and structured therapeutic support in one coordinated setting. The clinic is slated to open January 11, 2027, and you would join as one of its founding team members, alongside a Clinic Manager, Medical Assistant, Peer Recovery Specialist, Therapist, and Case Manager, who are being hired now. You will have a real voice in shaping how this clinic runs from day one.

Steadfast Health is looking for an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Winston-Salem clinic, providing outpatient care for patients with substance use disorders (SUD). You will evaluate and manage patients using evidence-based treatment, including medication for addiction treatment (MAT), as part of a collaborative team of physicians, therapists, medical assistants, and Peer Recovery Specialists.

    What the role looks like:

    • Setting: Outpatient SUD clinic offering IOP, MAT/MOUD, and OBAT
    • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30a–5:00p, with no nights, weekends, or on-call
    • Patient volume: 60 minute initial sessions/ 20 minute follow-up sessions, with an hour of protected time built into each day
    • Support: Daily morning huddle as a team with dedicated MA/LPN support, Peer Recovery Specialists, on-site therapists, and a collaborating physician available for consultation
    • Compensation: $130,000–$145,000 base salary, depending on experience, plus a 5% monthly performance-based bonus
    • Documentation: Soulside AI documentation support, so your time goes to patients rather than paperwork

    What You'll Do

    • Diagnose and manage SUDs and associated comorbidities using evidence-based pharmacotherapy and treatment planning
    • Work alongside Medical Assistants, Peer Recovery Specialists, and Therapists to build and carry out coordinated patient care plans
    • Apply Motivational Interviewing principles in a low-barrier, non-punitive, harm-reduction model
    • Help improve access to care for underserved and marginalized communities
    • Stay current with advances in addiction medicine, supported by our CEU stipend and paid training

    Why Steadfast?

    • 29 days off per year to start (PTO, floating holidays, and paid volunteer days), increasing with tenure
    • 4 Re-Fuel Days annually for mental health, rest, or CEU activities
    • Protected time each day for recharging, clinical supervision, huddles, care planning, and administrative work

    Professional growth

    • $2,000 annual CEU stipend and ongoing paid training
    • Mentorship from specialty-trained addiction experts and leadership pathways
    • Malpractice coverage

    Benefits and well-being

    • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
    • 100% employer-paid short- and long-term disability and life insurance

    • SoFi student loan interest rate discount, Rightway Health Concierge, a year of free pet telehealth through Pawp, and Perkspot discount marketplace

    What You Bring

    • Active NP license (FNP, AGNP, or PMHNP preferred) or PA-C (Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Emergency Medicine experience preferred), with NC licensure or eligibility and DEA registration
    • 2+ years of clinical experience, ideally in an outpatient setting
    • Experience with evaluation and management in SUD treatment, preferably outpatient, and strong knowledge of SUD diagnoses, medications, and treatment modalities
    • Ability to manage a full panel with confidence and minimal ramp-up
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to continuous learning
    • Alignment with our mission of low-barrier, non-punitive, harm-reduction SUD care

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to remain in a stationary position (sitting or standing) for extended periods while conducting patient visits, charting, and team collaboration.
    • Frequent movement throughout the clinic to interact with patients, team members, and equipment.
    • Ability to operate standard clinical and office equipment, including computers, medical devices, and phones.
    • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds occasionally (e.g., medical supplies, patient records, small equipment).
    • Visual acuity and manual dexterity sufficient to perform medical procedures, assess patients, and use electronic health record systems.
