Nurse Practitioner or Physician’s Assistant

NasonCare is currently searching for a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join their team! This opportunity is for a certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to work in primary care/urgent care.

Medical Specialty:

Qualifications:

  • Must be a graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program
  • At least two (2) years of practicing experience in a family practice setting
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred
  • Proficiency in minor surgical procedures
  • Strong communication skills
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records and healthcare technology

Responsibilities:

  • Perform physical examinations and preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines and instructions of Physician
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients’ clinical problems and health care needs
  • Record physical findings, and formulate plan and prognosis, based on patient’s condition. Provide written home-going instructions.
  • Collaborate with Physician and other health professionals to prepare comprehensive patient care plan as necessary
  • Prescribe or recommend medications or other forms of treatment
  • Refer patients to specialized health resources for treatment as needed
  • Maintain medical records using Electronic Medical Record software and completing charts within forty-eight hours after visit
  • Willing to see moderate patient load of 22 plus per 12-hour shift
  • Educate and coaches clinical staff on best practices
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments; including physical exams, patient history, and ordering diagnostic tests
  • Diagnose and treat acute and chronic medical conditions
  • Provide preventative care and related education for primary care patients
  • Prescribe medications and treatment plans as necessary
  • Document patient care in electronic medical records in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with regulations
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of medical treatments, technologies and best practices
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
