  • Sturdy Memorial Hospital is seeking an Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our community-based hospital in Attleboro, MA. We are a patient-focused organization and looking to grow our team with providers who are dedicated to providing meaningful patient care.

Education/Training:

  • Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant program

Licenses/Certification:

  • FNP or PA-C
  • Massachusetts NP/PA medical license
  • DEA/CSR license
  • ACLS/BLS certification

Job Profile Summary:

  • 30 or 36 hours per week positions available (includes benefits). Shift lengths vary from 8.5 hours to 12 hours.

  • Evaluate and treat mostly ESI Level 2 and 3 patients in the Sturdy Memorial Hospital Emergency Department under the supervision of an attending emergency physician

  • Utilize therapeutic means, laboratory data, and radiographic studies

  • Provide direct patient care to our communities in a well-established community hospital

  • Patient-centric mindset to provide the highest quality service and patient care

  • Work cross-functionally with specialty consultants as needed

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • PA or FNP license and at least 2 years of experience practicing as a PA or FNP in a hospital Emergency Department managing adult and pediatric patients ESI levels 2, 3, 4, and 5 adult and pediatric patients

  • Closed reduction and splinting of fractures, repairs of simple lacerations, suture removal, nail trephination, management of bite wounds, incision and drainage of uncomplicated superficial abscesses, assessment and treatment of 1st and wound degree burns, removal of foreign bodies of nose and ear, including impacted cerumen, removal of superficial corneal and conjunctival and subcutaneous foreign bodies, nasal packing and cauterization and infiltration of local and digital anesthesia

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, ability to interact effectively with adult and pediatric patients and with clinical, nursing, and physician staff, attentiveness to patient flow in the Emergency Department, ability to multi-task, handle interruptions and work effectively in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent command of verbal and written English

  • Excellent operation of clinical equipment

  • Proficiency in technology usage

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital-based emergency department

  • Experience working with an Electronic Medical Record

  • Experience utilizing a voice dictation system

The pay range displayed on each job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set, and education. This is not inclusive of the value Sturdy Health's benefits package (if applicable), which includes among other benefits, healthcare/dental/vision and retirement. For annual salaries this is based on full-time employment.
