The Per Diem Stroke Advanced Practice Provider (APP) provides comprehensive inpatient stroke and neurologic care at UCLA Health Santa Monica Hospital as part of a 24/7 Comprehensive Stroke Program. Working a minimum commitment of one 12-hour shift per week, the Per Diem APP functions as an integral member of the multidisciplinary stroke team, providing high-quality, evidence-based care to patients with acute stroke and other neurologic emergencies.
Per Diem Stroke APPs respond to Code Stroke activations, manage acute neurologic patients across multiple inpatient settings, and collaborate closely with vascular neurologists, emergency medicine physicians, hospitalists, nursing, radiology, pharmacy, rehabilitation services, and other members of the healthcare team. During each scheduled shift, the Per Diem APP is expected to function with the same clinical autonomy and responsibilities as regularly scheduled Stroke APPs.
This position is ideal for experienced Acute Care Nurse Practitioners seeking a flexible schedule while maintaining expertise in acute stroke and neuroscience care.
