    Description

    We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Trauma Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join our dynamic Trauma and Acute Care Surgery team. In this fast-paced role, you will provide exceptional care to patients with acute and critical injuries, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team in our busy Level III Trauma Center. The ideal candidate thrives under pressure, demonstrates advanced clinical skills, and is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Manage trauma and emergency general surgery admissions and consults
    • Perform daily rounding on patients
    • Write progress notes and coordinate follow-up care
    • Efficiently plan and coordinate patient discharges
    • Perform procedures including central line placement and chest tube insertion
    • Collaborate closely with trauma surgeons, emergency physicians, and the broader healthcare team

    Requirements

    • Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program (Master's required; Doctorate preferred)
    • Acute Care Nurse Practitioner certification strongly preferred
    • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in trauma, critical care, emergency, or acute care surgery (highly desirable)
    • Active Maryland Nurse Practitioner license and current RN license
    • National board certification as a Nurse Practitioner
    • Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA) required
    • Strong procedural skills and the ability to work effectively in a high-acuity, team-oriented environment
