    Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum):

    $61.740 - $70.170 - $90.160


     

    The stated pay scale reflects the range as defined by the collective bargaining agreement between Sharp HealthCare and Sharp Professional Nurses Network, United Nurses Associations of California/Union of Health Care Professionals, NUHHCE, AFSME, AFL-CIO.  Placement within the range is based on years of RN experience.

    Required Qualifications

    • Must be a graduate of a U.S. state-approved and accredited nursing program.
    • Must have a current unencumbered California RN license
    • Must have graduated no more than 18 months prior to the start date of the Nurse Residency program (graduation date no earlier than July 2025)
    • Must have less than 12 months of RN work experience on the start date of the Nurse Residency Program.
    • Must have a current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification for a healthcare provider by program start date.

     

    Note: If required by the specific unit, additional certifications including AHA ACLS, NIHSS, PALS, NRP, or others, must be completed by the program start date.

     

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Current, unencumbered California RN license (at time of application)
    • Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing

    Accreditations/Designations: Magnet, PTAP, Joint Commission Center of Excellence for Total Joint Replacements

    Note: all units work 12-hour shifts, unless otherwise indicated

     

    Sharp Memorial Ortho/Neuro Acute Care 4N

    Purpose of Unit: 4N is a medical surgical unit that is specialized in providing exemplary post-surgical care for orthopedic and spinal patients.

    Top 5 Diagnoses: Total Joint Replacement, Traumatic Fracture, Back/Spine Pain, Bone/Joint Infection and Cellulitis

    Number of Beds: 32

     

    Sharp Memorial Medical Acute Care 5N

    Purpose of Unit: Specializes in acute care medical-surgical population

    Top 5 Diagnoses: Renal (especially continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis and readmitted long-term kidney transplant patients), diabetes, cardiac monitoring, respiratory support

    Number of Beds: 31

     

    Sharp Memorial Surgical Acute Care 6N

    Purpose of Unit: Provides care for patients who require surgical intervention, primarily specializing in post-surgical care

    Top 5 Diagnoses: General laparoscopic, ambulatory bariatric, colorectal, urologic, and mandibular surgical patients

    Number of Beds: 32

     

    Sharp Memorial Medical Neuroscience Unit

    Additional Required Qualifications: NIHSS

    Purpose of Unit: Medical Neuroscience Unit (MSNU) provides care for stroke/TIA and a range of other neurological disorders/diagnoses as well as mixed acuity medical-surgical patients

    Top 5 Diagnoses: Stroke, seizure, TIA, SAH, non-traumatic post-craniotomy patients

    Number of Beds: 48

     

    Sharp Memorial Trauma/Neuro/Head & Neck PCU 4W

    Purpose of Unit: Provides specialized care for patients with traumatic injuries, craniotomies, spinal surgeries, and patients recovering from head and neck surgeries. Provides care for both surgical and medical patients requiring progressive level of care

    Top 5 Diagnoses: Traumatic injuries, craniotomies, laryngectomies, skin flaps, general surgical and medical progressive care

    Number of Beds: 32

     

    Sharp Memorial Medical ICU

    Additional Required Qualifications: AHA ACLS, NIHSS

    Additional Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a similar setting, such as LVN, Healthcare Partner/Assistant/Tech, etc.

    Purpose of Unit: Provides dynamic care for non-surgical critically ill patients, primarily specializing in medical disorders

    Top 5 Diagnoses: Respiratory failure, sepsis, heart failure, status post arrest, ischemic stroke

    Number of Beds: 24 (with additional 10 bed overflow department)

     

    Sharp Memorial Surgical ICU

    Additional Required Qualifications: AHA ACLS, NIHSS

    Additional Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a similar setting, such as LVN, Healthcare Partner/Assistant/Tech, etc.

    Purpose of Unit: A dynamic, cardiothoracic, neurosurgical, trauma ICU who serves multiples service lines and patients

    Top 5 Diagnoses: Open heart surgery, trauma, head injuries

    Number of Beds: 24

     

     

    Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for Women and Newborns

    Accreditations/Designations: PTAP

    Note: all units work 12-hour shifts, unless otherwise indicated

     

    Sharp Mary Birch Labor & Delivery

    Additional Required Qualifications: Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)

    Additional Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a similar setting, such as LVN, Healthcare Partner/Assistant/Tech, etc.

    Purpose of Unit: Provide 24-hour care to pregnant individuals during the antepartum, intrapartum and immediate postpartum period

    Top 5 Diagnoses: Intrauterine pregnancy, preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, pyelonephritis, preterm labor

    Number of Beds: 22
