Nurse Staff Development Coordinator

Acacia Health Center in beautiful Northeast Phoenix/Scottsdale is hiring a Nurse Educator/Staff Development Coordinator to join our team. We''re part of the prestigious Sagewood Senior Living Community, a CMS 5-Star Rated Facility. The Nurse Educator is responsible for the development and implementation of on-going educational programs at Acacia Health Center.

Position Details:

• Starting Pay Range: $95,000+
• Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8a-5p
• Location: Acacia Health Center at Sagewood

What You''ll Be Doing:

• Plan, develop, direct, conduct, evaluate, coordinate staff training, education, in service, and orientation.
• Train and educate the nursing staff.
• Knowledgeable of practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in the post-acute care facility.
• Implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department.
• Plan the annual and monthly training program calendar in collaboration with Director of Nursing.
• Work along with the Director of Nursing and Infection Preventionist to identify areas for educational opportunities. Develops in-services based on the community''s educational needs.
• Maintains appropriate training records and program materials as required by federal and state regulations.
• Conduct department specific orientation to Health Center nursing staff including completion of the clinical skills checklist.
• Monitors outcome of employee training sessions regarding skills taught and session evaluations.
• Serves on the QAPI & Risk Committees, submits reports and other committees as assigned.
• Coordinates the activities of students engaged in learning programs within the facility from various learning institutions.
• Following and investigating incidents, generating reports and reporting them to the Director of Nursing.
• Participates in Nursing Administration on-call rotation.

What We're Looking For:

• EDUCATION: Current Arizona RN license required.
• EXPERIENCE: Two years of training and development experience required, two years in long-term care required, wound certification preferred, infection prevention and control certification preferred.
• LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, write and speak effectively in English.
• MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Basic mathematical skills required.
• REASONING ABILITY: Ability to understand, follow and support established policies and procedures of the facility; ability to recognize emergency situations and respond appropriately; ability to plan, organize and prioritize assignments efficiently; ability to work effectively with minimum supervision; ability to adapt teaching to the situation and diversity of learners.
• OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Current CPR certification. Computer literacy needed. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Leadership and teaching skills required. Understanding and empathy of the uniqueness of the needs of the elderly required.
