    Job Title: Nurse Supervisor (Assistant Director of Nursing)

    Location: Bronx, NY 10467
    Duration: 13-Week Contract Assignment (Possible Extension)
    Shift: Day Shift
    Schedule: Monday – Friday | 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM (37.5 Hours/Week)


    Position Summary

    We are seeking an experienced Nurse Supervisor (Assistant Director of Nursing) to oversee nursing operations, support clinical teams, and promote high-quality patient care. This role partners with nursing leadership to enhance patient outcomes, monitor staff performance, implement quality improvement initiatives, and ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory standards.

    The ideal candidate will have strong leadership experience, a background in Medical-Surgical nursing, and the ability to mentor and guide nursing staff in a collaborative healthcare environment.


    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement programs to improve patient care quality and nursing staff performance
    • Supervise nursing operations and collaborate with Nurse Managers to evaluate unit effectiveness
    • Monitor clinical outcomes and identify opportunities for improvement
    • Implement corrective action plans when needed to address operational or performance concerns
    • Develop and maintain documentation systems for:
      • Medication errors
      • Staff counseling
      • Performance improvement activities
    • Ensure compliance with healthcare policies, regulatory requirements, and patient safety standards
    • Provide coaching, mentoring, and professional development support to nursing staff
    • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental planning
    • Promote a positive, collaborative, and patient-centered care environment

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program
    • Active Registered Nurse (RN) License
    • Primary Source Verification of RN License through the New York State Department of Education (NYSED)
    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
    • Minimum 7 years of nursing experience
    • Minimum 5 years of nursing supervisory or leadership experience
    • Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) nursing experience required
    • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
    • Proficiency in English (reading, writing, and speaking)

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN) preferred
