Description of Work
This position is located at Johnston Correctional Institution #4230, Smithfield, NC. Johnston Correctional Institution is a minimum-custody prison housing 668 male offenders
This is beginning-level supervisory nursing work. Employees in this class are characterized by the performance of supervision of a single component or unit of a nursing program, including research. They are typically responsible for having the basic knowledge required to serve as a supervisor/health authority for a unit within an organization. Employees in this class are responsible for implementation of the nursing process and maintaining the quality and adequacy of nursing practice; coordinating nursing and training programs; and assisting in solving professional, administrative, and supervisory problems in an assigned area.
Employees may assist a higher-level Nurse Supervisor or Nurse Director and perform general administrative duties, including planning, organizing, and managing daily operations, quality assurance, Human Resource Management functions, and staff development. Employees in this class may also be responsible for supervision of nursing consultation programs. Work is performed under the general supervision of a higher-level Nurse Supervisor or a Nurse Director.

Salary Range: $ 71,698.00- $106,139.00

Comprehensive Health Services (CHS) delivers health services to individuals incarcerated in North Carolina state prisons. Our mission is to provide constitutionally appropriate medical, mental health, dental, and pharmaceutical care that meets professional standards. CHS health professionals ensure access to timely, essential, and comprehensive services and programs that support the wellbeing of incarcerated individuals. This care is delivered by licensed staff and through partnerships with private providers and the University of North Carolina system.
