About the Agency

About the Position
Top-level Nurse Manager accountable for coordinating and managing the establishment of major plans, task assignments, and allocation of staffing to support and ensure conformance with specified objectives and policies. Directs the total nursing program for a large hospital or institution, typically as a Director of Nursing or Chief Nursing Officer, or may direct nursing services for a state agency or division. Develops vision and strategic direction and designs and executes plans of action for patient care processes, organizational culture, and nursing operations. Examples of Work/Expectations: Examples of work performed in this classification include, but are not limited to, the following: • Coordinates and manages major plans, task assignments, and allocation of nursing staff. • Directs and oversees nursing services and operations. • Develops the vision and strategic direction for nursing services. • Designs and executes plans of action related to patient care processes. • Provides leadership in the development and maintenance of organizational culture and nursing operations. • Ensures nursing services conform with established objectives, policies, standards, and procedures. • Provides oversight and direction to nursing management and staff. • Performs related or similar duties as required or assigned.
What youll need to be Successful
Strong nursing leadership and management skills, sound clinical judgment, effective communication, strategic planning abilities, and experience managing staff and nursing operations in a complex healthcare environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Typically requires state licensure as a Registered Nurse, 3-5+ years of experience as a Registered Nurse, and 2-4 years of experience supervising nurses.
