As a Nurse Supervisor, you coordinate care, mentor the team, and keep the milieu calm, safe, and moving forward—no matter what the shift brings —providing a calm, vigilant presence while others rest. How You Will Make a Difference
- Serve as a consistent on-shift clinical leader, overseeing daily operations, coordinating staffing assignments, prioritizing admissions, discharges, and transfers, and collaborating with Intake and Emergency Department teams to support safe and efficient patient flow.
- Provide clinical leadership and support to RNs, LPNs, and Mental Health Technicians by guiding patient assessments, medication administration, restraint and seclusion interventions in accordance with policy, and accurate, timely documentation.
- Lead behavioral health crisis response efforts, including real-time de-escalation and emergency interventions, while facilitating post-event debriefings that promote learning, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor and reinforce compliance with patient safety rounds, environmental standards, regulatory expectations, and therapeutic milieu practices while escalating facility, security, and operational concerns appropriately.
- Precept and mentor new hires, students, and team members while promoting clinical competency, professional growth, and adherence to organizational policies and best practices.
- Ensure continuity of care across shifts through proactive patient monitoring, effective communication with interdisciplinary teams, and thorough clinical documentation.
- Coordinate after-hours admissions, transfers, and urgent patient needs while providing comprehensive handoffs that support safe transitions and ongoing quality care.
- Partner with nursing and hospital leadership to identify opportunities for improvement, strengthen team performance, and maintain a safe, compassionate, and patient-centered care environment.
What We’re Looking For- Active RN license; BSN preferred.
- 2+ years inpatient psych or emergency psych experience; prior charge experience a plus.
- Calm communicator with strong critical‑thinking skills.
- Must be 21 or older
