Nurse Supervisor (RN)

A Brief Overview
The Nurse Supervisor (RN) is responsible for outpatient day-to-day nursing operations; including but not limited to the set-up, scheduling, staffing, purchasing equipment, quality initiatives, patient and physician satisfaction. Key requirements involve working with the service line leadership developing, planning, coordinating and implementing the TH business plan and strategy. This may involve overseeing the daily operations of the department including coding, billing and collections and other budget related duties as assigned. The supervisor is responsible for ongoing review, assessment and education of clinical nursing, policy & procedure management, medical record management and evaluating standards of care for patients. The supervisor maintains clinical competence, performs competency and annual performance evaluations of employee partners, and provides consultation in area of expertise to management, staff and other disciplines. The supervisor enhances operational effectiveness while emphasizing cost containment without jeopardizing important innovation and quality of care. The supervisor will ensure that the department operations and team members are knowledgeable of and in compliance with applicable regulatory, licensing and accrediting agency standards and applicable state and federal laws. The supervisor will demonstrate fluency in the EMR and HIS systems, effectively implementing and monitoring utilization of these tools for documentation of care and improved case management. The supervisor will coordinate with leadership to provide an efficient, high-quality experience for patients and referral sources. The supervisor has the authority to make decisions that ensure quality and safe patient care in the absence of the dyad leadership team. The supervisor must participate in teamwork activities with peers and complete all other duties as assigned by senior management.

What you will do
  • Ensure clinical staffing, scheduling and training for all nursing associates
  • Ensure the delegation of associates and coordination of patient flow in the clinics to facilitate an efficient, safe operation and customer satisfaction
  • Facilitate a cohesive working environment with effective communication at each location.
  • Oversee the competencies of the nurse department staff, and ensure nurses are following all regulatory and accrediting agencies

Education Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing. (ADN) Required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. (BSN) Preferred

Experience Qualifications
  • One to two (1-2) years nursing experience Required
  • Leadership experience in nursing Preferred

Skills and Abilities
  • Proficiency with PC’s and Microsoft office software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook and prior Electronic Medical Record experience preferred.
  • Evidence of effective leadership, interpersonal skills, consensus and team building skills required.
  • Analytical and operational problem solving/decision making skills with the ability to be innovative is required.
  • The ability to be self-motivated to complete organizational projects and goals is required.
  • Ability to demonstrate conflict resolution and problem solving among associates, schedulers, physicians, patients, families and other health care providers

Licenses and Certifications
  • Registered Nurse - South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation with South Carolina Board of Nursing. Required
  • Basic Life Support Certified - American Heart Association is required within 30 days of hire. Recertification every two years is Required
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Certified - American Heart Association Preferred
  • Current and in good standing RN Licensure with South Carolina Board of Nursing Upon Hire Required
