BHN is seeking a Nurse Supervisor to provide clinical and administrative leadership to our Complex Care Management team. In this role, you will support Nurse Care Managers serving children and adults with complex medical, behavioral health, substance use, and social needs. You'll play a key role in advancing integrated care, promoting health equity, reducing avoidable hospital utilization, and helping individuals remain engaged in community-based services.

What You Will Do  

As the Nurse Supervisor, you will lead and support a team of Nurse Care Managers while ensuring high-quality, person-centered care for individuals with complex health and behavioral health needs.

 

You will:

  • Provide clinical and administrative supervision, coaching, and performance management for Nurse Care Managers.
  • Oversee nursing assessments, care plans, and clinical interventions to ensure quality, accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
  • Support staff in identifying health risks, coordinating care, and connecting individuals to medical, behavioral health, substance use, and community resources.
  • Provide clinical oversight for withdrawal assessment and management, including appropriate level-of-care determinations using evidence-based tools such as CIWA and COWS.
  • Promote community-based treatment approaches that improve engagement and reduce unnecessary emergency department visits and hospital admissions.
  • Review documentation, conduct audits, monitor quality metrics, and provide actionable feedback to support continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate nursing meetings, case reviews, and interdisciplinary collaboration to strengthen care coordination and clinical decision-making.
  • Monitor referrals, assign caseloads based on acuity, and support timely access to services.
  • Develop and implement workflows, protocols, and standard operating procedures that support quality care and operational excellence.
  • Partner with medical providers, Quality, and program leadership to monitor outcomes, improve performance, and meet contractual requirements.
  • Maintain a limited direct caseload and provide care management support as needed while modeling best practices.
  • Ensure nursing staff have the training, resources, and support needed to provide exceptional care.

Who You Are

  • You are a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in Massachusetts.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or a related field preferred.
  • Two (2) or more years of nursing leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience in care management, public health, integrated care, behavioral health, or community health settings preferred.
  • Knowledge of substance use treatment, withdrawal management, and evidence-based assessment tools such as CIWA and COWS.
  • Strong understanding of population health, social determinants of health, and integrated care models.
  • Skilled in clinical supervision, quality improvement, documentation review, and performance management.
  • Comfortable using electronic health records, reporting systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English is preferred.
  • Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Salary 

Competitive salary based on experience.
