Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Oversee the selection, training, evaluation, and discipline of RN Nurse team.
- Parent Communication: Respond to parent inquiries promptly and professionally, maintaining transparent and effective communication.
- Station Management: Monitor the Nurses’ Station for cleanliness and safety, creating a conducive environment for medical care.
- Collaborative Contribution: Actively participate in weekly interdisciplinary Treatment Team meetings, providing valuable insights and updates.
- Emergency Response: Respond swiftly to reports of pain or sickness, assess students, and make informed decisions on necessary actions.
- Health Assessment: Determine when a student requires placement on sick bed due to illness or pain, prioritizing their well-being.
- Medical Accompaniment: Accompany students to medical appointments, effectively communicating findings and updates to parents.
- Vital Sign Monitoring: Check vital signs and weight of students as assigned, ensuring accurate and consistent healthcare documentation.
- Medication Administration: Accurately dispense student medications, meticulously recording details in the Medication Administration Record.
- Narcotics Oversight: Count and track narcotics every shift, maintaining a stringent and secure medication management system.
- Behavioral Monitoring: Monitor students’ mood, behavior, and affect, particularly during new medication introductions, and document findings.
- Lab Coordination: Correlate lab draws for students, contributing to comprehensive healthcare records.
- Medical Communication: Effectively communicate pertinent medical information to the Treatment Team and Psychiatrist, facilitating collaborative patient care.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN)
- Active RN license in the state of Utah
- 3+ years of nursing experience, including experience in psychiatric/mental health
- 1+ year of leadership or Embark Nursing experience.
- CAQH profile and NPI number (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong communication, organizational, and crisis management skills
- A heart for adolescents and a commitment to trauma-informed care
