Job Description Rappahannock Community College (RCC) founded in 1970 provides high-quality educational and training opportunities throughout a 12-county service region, an hour east of Richmond on the beautiful western shore of the Chesapeake Bay with access to fresh local seafood and water activities. RCC invites you to apply for an Adjunct Nursing Instructor position at our Glenns and Warsaw campuses and our remote clinical agencies to provide laboratory and clinical supervision for all levels of nursing students. Several part-time opportunities are available, including Nursing Didactic Instructors for Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) program, Nursing Laboratory/Clinical Instructors for Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) program, Nursing Didactic/Laboratory/Clinical Instructors for the Practical Nursing (PN) program, and Nurse Aide Instructors.
Nursing faculty work across programs to provide for the educational needs of students. Adjunct instructors are invited and encouraged to participate in the governance of the nursing unit. The College desires candidates with a commitment to the community college mission and experience working in a varied student population, including adult learners and at-risk students.

Required Qualifications
Nursing Didactic Instructors for Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) program Minimum requirements: Masters degree in Nursing or hold a baccalaureate degree and be actively enrolled in a graduate program. RN license with two years of direct client care experience.
Nursing Laboratory/Clinical Instructors for Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) program Minimum requirements: Baccalaureate degree or hold an associate degree and be actively enrolled in a baccalaureate program. RN license with two years of direct client care experience.
Nursing Didactic/Laboratory/Clinical Instructors for the Practical Nursing (PN) program Minimum requirements: Baccalaureate degree in nursing or hold an associate degree and be actively enrolled in a baccalaureate degree program. RN license with two years of direct client care experience.
Nurse Aide Instructors Minimum requirements: Licensed practical nurse with at least one year of direct client care experience as a nurse. Evidence of completion of the Nurse Aide Train-the-Trainer course or willingness to complete within 30 days of hire.
Additional Considerations
Nursing Didactic Instructors for Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) program Preferred requirements: Critical Care, Maternal-Child Nursing, Pediatric Nursing, and/or Mental Health Nursing experience desirable in addition to medical-surgical experience. At least one year of experience teaching pre-licensure education preferred. Must possess a strong desire to teach adult learners.
Nursing Laboratory/Clinical Instructors for Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) program Preferred requirements: Critical Care, Maternal-Child Nursing, Pediatric Nursing, and/or Mental Health Nursing experience desirable in addition to medical-surgical experience. At least one year of experience teaching pre-licensure education preferred. Must possess a strong desire to teach adult learners.
Nursing Didactic/Laboratory/Clinical Instructors for the Practical Nursing (PN) program Preferred requirements: Masters Degree in Nursing, MSN with the above experience plus long-term care experience. At least one year of experience teaching pre-licensure education is preferred.
Nurse Aide Instructors Preferred requirements: At least one year of experience teaching pre-licensure education. Operation of a State Vehicle No No Supervises Employees No Required Travel May be required to travel to clinical sites.
