Position Summary
The Nursing Assistant Registered (NAR) provides direct resident care by assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), promoting resident comfort and dignity, and creating a welcoming dining experience through outstanding customer service during meal times. Our NARs are essential for our residents well being and play a key role in enhancing each resident's quality of life.
Primary Responsibilities
Resident Care
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and oral hygiene.
- Assist residents with transfers, repositioning, and ambulation using safe lifting techniques and equipment.
- Observe residents and promptly report changes in condition to the licensed nurse.
- Answer resident call lights promptly and courteously.
- Maintain resident dignity, privacy, and independence at all times.
- Assist with making beds, organizing resident rooms, and maintaining a clean, safe environment.
Dining Services & Customer Service
- Prepare dining rooms before each meal by ensuring tables are clean, organized, and welcoming.
- Escort residents to and from the dining room as needed.
- Assist residents with meal setup and feeding according to care plans.
- Encourage hydration and nutritional intake.
- Provide exceptional customer service by engaging with residents in a friendly, respectful, and compassionate manner.
- Assist with dining room cleanup following each meal.
Teamwork
- Communicate effectively with nurses, therapy, dietary, activities, and other departments.
- Participate in shift report and resident care planning.
- Support coworkers to ensure residents receive timely, high-quality care.
- Follow all infection prevention and safety procedures.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Current Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registered (NAR) status.
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members.
- Compassionate, dependable, and positive attitude.
- Ability to work independently while functioning as part of a team.
- Previous long-term care experience preferred but not required.
