    Nursing Assistant Trainer Parmly

    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Nursing Assistant Trainer is responsible for following the curriculum content as set forth by the Federal &

    Minnesota Department of Health NATCEP program for currently enrolled Nursing Assistant In Training (NAIT)

    Students in the Minnesota State approved 75-hour NATCEP class. The Nursing Assistant Trainer promotes

    quality care through the development of knowledge and skills of NAITs.

    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

    PROVIDES NURSING ASSISTANT TRAINING CLASSES IN PREPARATION FOR LONG-TERM CARE CERTIFICATION

    • Prepare classroom with necessary/required materials prior to the start time and clean-up of classroom

    each day

    • Serve as a role model through instruction, including that of correct procedural techniques, exemplary

    personal appearance, and professional speech and conduct

    • Complete and maintain appropriate records according to the requirements for the NATCEP Program
    • Communicate necessary information to designated personnel timely and promptly

    PROMOTES AND ESTABLISHES HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS AND USES PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT WITH

    SUPERVISORS, OTHER HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS, RESIDENTS, FAMILIES, VISITORS, AND CO-WORKERS

    • Arrives at work area on time and ready to begin work. Can prioritize and be organized and efficient when

    interacting and communicating.

    • Follows policy on absenteeism, tardiness, and call-ins as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
    • Follows dress code, wears name tag, and limits personal phone calls.
    • Is courteous and cooperative with residents, families, visitors, supervisors, and co-workers.
    • Always maintains resident confidentiality. Understands the need for complete privacy of all health care

    data.

    • Abides by and promotes the Continuous Quality Improvement Program of Monarch Healthcare

    Management.

    MAINTAINS CURRENT LEVELS OF EDUCATION AND FACILITATE THE IMPLEMENTATION OF NEW POLICIES AND

    PROCEDURES WITH THE FACILITY

    • Attends continuing education pertinent to your department and designated by VP of Clinical Services.
    • If applicable, attends educational programs on Continuous Quality Improvement, customer satisfaction

    and other such programs.

    • Participates in inspections and audits as designated.
    • Maintains current knowledge of Federal and Minnesota Department of Health regulations.
    • Maintains and applies knowledge of current policies and procedures as it relates to job responsibilities.
    • Is knowledgeable of and abides by the importance of the Residents' Bill of Rights.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Education and Experience

    • Must have documented completion of academic program in the form of licensure and or awarded

    degrees in nursing or other personnel as indicated by the State of Minnesota Department of Human

    Services.

    • Prior nursing assistant instruction experience and/or experience in a skilled nursing setting is preferred.
    • Must be flexible with working hours and possess the ability to work independently.
    • Must be able to perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
    • Must qualify for employment after criminal background checks per the guidelines of the Minnesota

    Department of Health.
