SUMMARY

The Nursing Clinical Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Director of Nursing in overseeing licensed nurses, medical secretaries, and medical assistants while also performing clinical nursing duties as needed. The role involves supporting and guiding staff, ensuring adherence to Clinic policies, providing feedback on performance, and maintaining a positive and efficient work environment. This position also involves problem-solving and ensuring the safety and well-being of both staff and patients.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates leadership qualities such as effective communication, problem-solving, critical judgment, and time management.
  • Upholds the Clinics values, mission, and reputation while maintaining professionalism and empathy when interacting with staff and patients.
  • Provides direction, support, and guidance to nursing staff, enforcing Clinic policies and facilitating required training.
  • Acts as a role model, handling patient complaints, addressing staff concerns, and facilitating conflict resolution with objectivity.
  • Assists in interviewing, hiring, and making disciplinary decisions for the nursing department.
  • Provides direct clinical education and training support to new and existing staff.
  • Prioritizes and organizes tasks to meet deadlines and manage workflow changes efficiently.
  • Contributes to quality improvement initiatives and ensures adherence to safety policies.
  • Maintains confidentiality regarding patient and staff matters.
  • Reports to the Director of Nursing (DON) and works closely with other management team members to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Ensures that pertinent information is effectively communicated to staff and management.
  • Manages and updates reports as requested by Director of Nursing.
  • Acts as a leader during emergency situations and times of organizational change.
  • Ensures staff are competent in clinical guidelines and safety procedures.
  • Participates in organizational committees, feedback sessions, and Clinic growth opportunities.
  • Demonstrates expertise in nursing fundamentals, skill sets, and professional standards.
  • Contributes to process improvements that enhance organizational growth, advance, and promote employee education through annual performance evaluations, providing feedback that focuses on individual growth and development.

Education & Experience

  • Equivalent to Graduate of an approved school of Registered Professional Nursing.
  • Unrestricted license/compact license to practice in the State of Texas.
  • BLS/ACLS certified.
  • Three or more years previous experience in ambulatory care, hospital, or public health.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and clinical software programs or EMR.

Skills and Abilities

  • Must demonstrate excellent organizational and time management.
  • Uses analytical skills for troubleshooting and problem-solving.

Physical Requirements

  • Able to stand at least 75% of the time.
  • Able to lift, position, push, and/or transfer patients.
  • Able to sit, walk, carry 50 lbs, push, pull, reach, handle, bend, kneel, crouch.
