Founded in 1970, Laurel Ridge Community College (Laurel Ridge) is a comprehensive, multi-campus public institution of higher education. Through its three locations, the Fauquier and Middletown Campus and the Luray-Page County Center, the College serves eight localities in the Shenandoah Valley and Piedmont regions. The localities are the counties of Clarke, Fauquier, Frederick, Page, Rappahannock, Shenandoah and Warren and the city of Winchester. Laurel Ridge offers more than 75 associate degree and certificate programs in a wide variety of disciplines, in addition to providing access to bachelor"s, master"s and doctoral degree programs offered on site by a four-year institution. Laurel Ridge also serves the business community by offering workforce preparation programs for employees and employers. Laurel Ridge serves more than 7,600 unduplicated credit students and more than 10,450 individuals in professional development and business and industry courses annually.

The purpose of this position is to support the Laurel Ridge Nursing Programs in the coordination of clinical, simulation, and laboratory placements and experiences. Enhance program outcomes and ensure compliance to regulatory and clinical requirements for students and clinical faculty. Works directly with students, faculty, program leadership, and clinical partners. Participates in student tracking and support activities, including coaching incoming nursing student cohorts to ensure student compliance with entrance and clinical requirements. Oers administrative support for the nursing programs, the Director of Nursing, and supports accreditation eorts and student tracking.

This position is quasi-full time, working 36 hours weekly for 12 months of the year.

Core Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

  • Clinical, laboratory, and simulation schedule coordination
  • Onboarding and maintenance of clinical site requirements, clinical hours tracking, and other digital compliance trackers.
  • Operational and administrative support for the Director of Nursing and Nursing Programs
  • Part-time faculty oversight, recruitment and retention
  • Institutional responsibility including establishing, publishing and maintaining consistent office hours and provide a positive, caring, and dynamic learning environment that exemplies the mission, vision, and core values of Laurel Ridge Community College.
  • Student success responsibilities such as managing student inquiries, triaging issues to appropriate faculty or staff, and support the pinning and commencement ceremonies.

Compensation and Benefits

The hiring range for this position is $57,733.00-$81,289.00. However, actual starting salary will be commensurate with competencies and experience. This position is quasi-full time, working 36 hours a week 12 months of the year. The position is classified staff and as such is eligible for the benefits package offered by the Commonwealth of Virginia for state agencies. Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proven subject matter knowledge, which may be evidenced by training, experience, and/or credentials.
  • Demonstrated experience in a healthcare setting or comparable experience in complex scheduling and coordination roles, with the ability to understand and apply relevant systems, processes, and terminology.
  • Demonstrated experience as either an administrative assistant, office manager, clinical coordinator, or an equivalent.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively coordinate and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in basic computer skills including Microsoft office and the ability to learn and become a superuser/ trainer and administrator of electronic tracking systems and other educational platforms.

Additional Considerations:

  • Previous experience in clinical coordination, healthcare administration, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience with state regulations and accreditation standards related to clinical education and /or nursing programs
  • Demonstrated experience with Canvas, Trajecsys, or similar products.
