Job Summary:
To direct, manage, and coordinate the operational activities of assigned departments or areas in the hospital and clinics. To ensure that processes and procedures in patient care are in compliance with UMMC and regulatory standards. To provide guidance and leadership in the delivery of optimum patient care.
Education & Experience
Education and Experience Required: Bachelor's degree in nursing and four (4) years of progressive leadership experience. Master's degree preferred. Experience cannot be substituted for educational requirement.
Certifications, licenses or registration required: Valid RN license, American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Certification in Nursing Administration or ACHE Certification preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge and understanding of clinical patient care standards and procedures. Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, and the coordination of people and resources. Verbal and written communication skills. Interpersonal and negotiation skills. Ability to develop and implement measures to maintain a stable work force. Analytical and conceptual skills. Must be able to implement quality improvement measure and facilitate clinical education. Ability to build and sustain collaborative inter-professional relationships.
