Nursing Director - Inpatient Medicine (Jenks 5 at NEBH)

The Nursing Director will provide strategic, operational, and clinical leadership for two newly established 25-bed Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) inpatient medicine units (50 total beds) located on Jenks 5 at the New England Baptist Hospital (NEBH) campus, approximately 0.9 miles from the BIDMC main campus. These units are scheduled to open in early January 2027.

What You''ll Do

  • Lead and foster a culture of clinical excellence, patient-centered care, safety, and teamwork.
  • Inspire and support nursing staff by promoting professional growth, clinical development, and evidence-based practice.
  • Partner with physicians, nursing leaders, and interdisciplinary teams to advance patient care goals and organizational priorities.
  • Drive innovation and lead change initiatives that improve quality, patient outcomes, and operational performance.
  • Build and develop high-performing teams through recruitment, coaching, performance management, and succession planning.
  • Guide managers and directors in strengthening operations, improving workflows, and achieving departmental goals.
  • Oversee staffing strategy and resource allocation to ensure exceptional patient care and a positive work environment.
  • Manage departmental budgeting and financial performance while balancing quality, efficiency, and patient outcomes.

Leadership Scope

  • Directly leads a team of leaders and clinical professionals.
  • Oversees more than 7 direct reports and supports 21-50 indirect reports.
  • Serves as a key operational and strategic partner within the organization, influencing decisions that impact patients, staff, and clinical outcomes.

This role is ideal for a collaborative and visionary healthcare leader who is passionate about developing people, advancing nursing practice, and driving meaningful change within a complex healthcare environment.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor''s degree in Nursing required. Master''s degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Healthcare Finance or Hospital Administration preferred.

License Registered Nurse required., and Certificate 1 Basic Life Support required.

3-5 years related work experience required and 0-1 years supervisory/management experience required

Experience with computer systems required, including web based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access.

Preferred Qualifications:

1-3 years supervisory/management experience

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to provide care across the lifespan, including neonatal, young adult, adult, and geriatric populations.
  • Light physical activity, including frequent movement throughout the hospital campus and occasional lifting or moving of objects up to 20 pounds.

Pay Range:

$180,000.00 USD - $230,000.00 USD

The pay range listed for this position is the annual base salary range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
