    Job Summary

    Full Time, Days

    Responsible for the administrative and clinical aspects of the clinical department/unit(s) to include organizing, developing, directing, and assuring the delivery of cost effective, quality patient care. Ensures that patient care on the unit(s) is performed in accordance with established corporate and hospital policies and procedures, Federal and State regulations, and TJC and ANA standards.

    Responsibilities

    The Emergency Department Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, interventions, and evaluations which facilitate patient care. Teaching patients and significant others information concerning health care needs is essential to the care giving process. Works as a member of the multidisciplinary team to promote high quality, cost efficient health care.

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION:

    • Bachelors Degree in Nursing required or related field
    • Masters Degree preferred in Nursing, Education, Management or related field, or demonstrated equivalent competencies
    • Nationally certified in area of specialty preferred

    EXPERIENCE:

    • Clinical and administrative practice
    • Five (5) years Nursing experience required; Three to Five years Emergency Nursing preferred.
    • Working knowledge of Quality Improvement process and TJC standards

    CERTIFICATIONS:

    • Registered Nurse - licensed in the State of Florida. BLS (AHA), ACLS, PALS

    OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

    • TNCC preferred
    • CEN preferre

As both a community hospital and state-designated Level I Trauma Center, Delray Medical Center offers several specialized services including advanced cardiac and vascular facilities, orthopedics, neurosciences, emergency care and weight-loss surgery. Pinecrest Rehabilitation and Outpatient Hospital at Delray Medical Center is the only state designated brain and spinal cord injury rehabilitation program in the county by the State of Florida.
