Job Title Nursing Pathway Programs Coordinator Classification Title Department Nursing Work Location ALL SITES Duties

The Nursing Pathway Programs Coordinator supports the nursing department by promoting program visibility, coordinating student recruitment efforts, and strengthening community and clinical partnerships. Reporting to the Dean of Nursing, this position plays a vital role in maintaining affiliation agreements, organizing departmental events, and managing student onboarding documentation, including health records. The coordinator serves as a liaison between the department, prospective students, community organizations, and healthcare facilities, and provides essential administrative support to enhance student success and program development. A nursing license is not required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Create a candidate database and a program admittance cohort file for each nursing and BNAT cohort students.

  2. Generate all nursing program candidates' acceptance and/or denial written communication.

  3. Maintain records of program admittance materials, applications, supportive documentation, and communication.

  4. Responsible for scheduling/reserving classroom spaces/rooms for the Nursing Program.

  5. Assist with Basic Nurse Assistant IDPH background check and voucher processes.

  6. Coordinate and implement outreach strategies to attract prospective students and promote nursing programs across the community.

  7. Serve as a representative of the nursing department at local schools, career fairs, community events, and healthcare-related functions.

  8. Develop and maintain clinical affiliation agreements in collaboration with the Dean of Nursing and appropriate institutional offices.

  9. Organize and manage key nursing program events such as orientations, pinning ceremonies, open houses, and guest speaker sessions.

  10. Collect, manage, and maintain confidential student health and immunization records in compliance with institutional and regulatory standards.

  11. Support the onboarding process for incoming nursing students, including tracking compliance with clinical documentation and clearance requirements.

  12. Maintain accurate outreach, agreement, and event documentation; prepare reports for the Dean of Nursing and college leadership.

  13. Assist with departmental scheduling, communication, and operational needs as assigned.

  14. Foster strong relationships with clinical sites, school counselors, and community organizations to support nursing program enrollment and expansion.

  15. Support Career Programs Coordinator's tasks, as assigned.

Education/Experience

Bachelor's degree required. Bachelor's degree in education, Health Sciences, Public Health, Communications, or a related field.

At least two (2) years of related experience in outreach, student recruitment, program coordination, or community engagement required. Knowledge of student services, admission processes and past experience with admissions processes, including assisting students in their completion of admissions materials. Knowledge of Nursing program helpful.

  • Ability to deliver customary student services and admission requirements, processes and procedures connected to selective health science/nursing admission programs.
  • Demonstrated knowledge/ability to assist students with college admissions policies and procedures, and application deadlines.
  • Must be a self-starter with excellent communication skills who efficiently multi-tasks while maintaining a high level of efficiency and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), good judgment, flexibility and a team orientation when dealing with students and others.
  • Must have knowledge/experience discussing degree options with students, including help with interpretation of program core requirements using the online catalog and other marketing materials.
  • Must have technology experience maintaining college databases for such program requirements as fingerprinting, criminal background information and student health information.

Position Status Full Time Hours

General Hours - 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

Some evenings/weekends may be required.

Location: All MVCC sites

Salary/Wage $54,700-$70,000 (plus exceptional benefits) Hourly/Salary Salaried Benefits
