    POSITION OBJECTIVE/SUMMARY:

    The Nursing Scheduler is responsible for scheduling employees to ensure sufficient coverage of staff for all shifts within AIP/CIP for Kedren. The nursing scheduler generates, manages and updates master schedules while making adjustments as needed according to census fluctuations, call-ins, and pre-planned leaves of absence.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION:

    • Experience in administrative clerical support in a psychiatric or other healthcare environment preferred.
    • Experience in MS Word,Exceland a data entry database computer software in a windows environment.
    • Must be organized, detail oriented and the ability to handle confidential information.
    • Possesses excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills, the ability tointerface withall levels of management, clients and associates while building strong relationships.
    • Must have the ability to problem solve, meetdeadlinesand follow through on work assignments in a fast-paced environment.
    • The ability to work overtime and/oradditionaldays on special projects as needed.

    GENERAL STATEMENT OF FUNCTIONS:

    • Maintain staffing operations across both unitsacross all shifts: AIP and CIP(AM, PM, NOC).
    • Maintainaccuratestaffing list of all Nursing Department employees(FT/PT/Per Diem/Registry)to include names and contact information such as current telephone numbers, email,emergency contact,and home address.
    • Processrequests for sick time off, vacation,maternity leave, Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and unpaid leaves of absenceafter approved by DON.
    • Notify DONof nursingemployeesschedules per shift per unit ondailybasis.
    • Fulfilling staffing vacancies in advance to ensure adequate coverage for all shiftsby using FT/PT/Per Diem and Registry staff.OTand Double timemust be approved by DON.
    • Maintain open and professional communication with Registry Agencies, keep phone numbers of alladministrativecontact persons up to date.
    • Be available to receive phone callsand ortext messages from Registry Agenciesregardingstaffing needsas needed.
    • Keeping meticulous attendance recordsby monitoring overtime and attendance of employees
    • Notify Directorof Nursing of potential need forthe progressive disciplinary process if staff membersaccrueexcessive absences and/or tardiness.
    • Communicating with Unit Supervisorsand theDirector of Nursing / Chief Nursing Officerregardingfloor orientation scheduling for newly hired employees in the nursing department
    • Checking time clock punch records against master schedules and noting theappropriate changes
    • Signing time correction forms for events such as missing meal periods or forgetting to clock in/out
    • Track a document all in-service training sessions
    • Utilizing computer software to prepare, change,and update the master schedule
    • Secure coverage for vacancy shifts
    • Work with the payroll manager to verify payroll accuracy
