Position Description & Details

Position Summary

The Simulation Coordinator provides technical, operational, and logistical support for simulation-based learning activities within the Department of Nursing. This position is responsible for preparing and maintaining simulation environments, troubleshooting equipment and technology, and supporting faculty and the Simulation Director in the delivery of high-quality simulation experiences.

The Simulation Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring simulation activities run efficiently, safely, and consistently, supporting student learning and program needs.

Appointment

  • 12-month staff position (or as determined by institutional needs)

Qualifications

Required:

  • Experience with technology, IT systems, or audiovisual equipment
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively

Preferred:

  • Experience in a healthcare or medical setting
  • Experience with simulation equipment or educational technology
  • Familiarity with clinical environments or terminology

No specific degree required; relevant experience will be considered.

Primary Responsibilities

Simulation Setup & Support

  • Prepare simulation labs and equipment for scheduled activities
  • Set up manikins, task trainers, supplies, and simulation scenarios as directed
  • Assist faculty and the Simulation Director during simulation sessions

Technology & Troubleshooting

  • Operate and troubleshoot simulation equipment, audiovisual systems, and software
  • Provide real-time technical support during simulation activities
  • Coordinate with IT as needed to resolve technical issues

Operations & Lab Management

  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of simulation and lab spaces
  • Ensure readiness of equipment and supplies for all scheduled activities
  • Monitor equipment functionality and report maintenance needs

Supply & Inventory Management

  • Order, stock, and track simulation and lab supplies
  • Maintain inventory of equipment and materials
  • Assist with budget-conscious purchasing decisions in collaboration with the Simulation Director

Quality & Consistency

  • Support consistent setup and execution of simulation experiences
  • Ensure simulation environments meet established standards and expectations
  • Assist in maintaining policies and procedures related to simulation operations

Collaboration & Support

  • Work closely with the Simulation Director and nursing faculty to support program needs
  • Assist with special projects, training sessions, or events related to simulation
  • Provide general support to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of simulation operations

Working Conditions

  • Work is performed in simulation center
  • Will require lifting and moving equipment
