Internal Job Posting InformationFaculty - 9 monthExemptRenewable Term Appointment Responsibilities and Duties include but are not limited to Under the supervision of the Program Director and the Division Chair, and the direction of the Vice President of Learning, and the President of the College, faculty perform the following duties for their respective programs or disciplines, and the College:Follow the rules and regulations of the College.Coordinate and schedule all simulation activities across campusesDesign, implement, and evaluate simulations based on evidence-based practicesIncorporate an electronic health record in simulation scenarios to promote realistic clinical experience.Collaborate closely with faculty to align simulation activities with course objectivesFoster a psychologically safe environment for student learningEvaluate student performance in simulation using evidenced-based practices.Maintain, operate, and ensure the proper care of simulation manikins and lab equipmentOrder and manage supplies necessary for simulation labsProvide student remediation and skill reinforcement as neededParticipate in annual professional development activities in nursing simulation educationParticipate in institutional activities such as College-wide events, college standing committees, ad hoc committees, internal and external marketing and promotional activities, and public service activities.Attend Faculty Assembly meetings, academic division meetings, advisory committee meetings, and other faculty related events as identified by the administration. Participate in professional development activities and professional organizations. Integrate writing, technology, computer applications, and oral presentation requirements into assigned courses where applicable.Work with the workforce development and/or campus managers, as appropriate, to provide credit or non-credit courses, seminars, workshops, etc.Assume a positive and active role as a representative of Northern, including support of institutional goals and initiatives.Generally display a positive attitude and is cooperative with students, staff, other faculty, and administrators Communicate effectively and respond to students, staff, other faculty, and administrators in a timely manner.Other duties may be assigned Qualifications and Requirements Minimum Qualifications:Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferredBachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) considered if enrolled in an MSN program and has relevant simulation experienceRecent nursing simulation teaching experience requiredCurrent certification in simulation instruction or commitment to obtain within three years of hireCurrent and unencumbered WV RN license or compact licensePreferred Skills and Attributes:Self-directed with excellent organizational and time management skillsTechnologically proficient and computer savvyExperience using electronic health records (EHR) in simulation environmentsAbility to effectively collaborate with faculty and interdisciplinary teamsStrong commitment to creating a safe and supportive learning environment Knowledge, Skills and Abilities; Additional Information Keys to success in this position:ResilienceTeamwork orientedAbility work independently with little supervisionLeadership skillsAbility to work with diverse populationsStrong technological skills Full benefit package which may include but is not limited to retirement with employer matching, health insurance, and life insurance.
