Middle Georgia State University (MGA), a multi-campus, baccalaureate and graduate degree-granting public institution, is the most affordable public state university in Georgia. Job Summary
This is a full-time 12-month staff position that is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Department of Nursing¿s Clinical Simulation Activities by providing technical and operational expertise in the preparation, execution, and maintenance of simulation-based education
Responsibilities
Simulation Setup & Operation (50%) -
Prepare simulation labs, manikins, equipment, and supplies prior to training sessions.
Operate patient simulators and audiovisual systems during simulation scenarios
Manage audiovisual systems for recording, live streaming, and debriefing sessions
Program and run simulation software according to faculty or instructor requirements
Support faculty and simulation educators in the implementation of learning objectives and scenarios
Maintenance & Technical Support (20%) -
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on manikins and simulation equipment
Troubleshoot and resolve equipment, software, and network issues
Maintain inventory of simulation supplies, consumables, and equipment
Provide basic training for faculty and staff on simulation equipment and software operation.
Support students in skills practice and return demonstrations when appropriate
Collaboration & Instructional Support (15%) -
Collaborate with faculty and simulation educators to design, test, and implement simulation scenarios
Provide technical assistance during training sessions and debriefings
Support data management for simulation assessments.
Documentation & Administration (15%) -
Maintain accurate records of simulations, equipment usage, and maintenance.
Assist with scheduling and setup logistics for simulation events.
Ensure compliance with safety, confidentiality, and data security standards
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Minimum of bachelors degree in healthcare, technology, biomedical engineering, or related field
Required Experience
1-3 years Experience in nursing education, clinical education, IT, or audiovisual support.
Preferred Qualifications
Additional Preferred Qualifications
Certified Healthcare Simulation
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Preferred Experience
Experience in higher education or healthcare training environments strongly preferred
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Knowledge of simulation equipment (e.g., Laerdal, CAE, Gaumard, or similar) preferred
Basic understanding of human anatomy and medical terminology.
Strong technical skills.
Proficiency with computers, networks, and audiovisual systems.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
