You'll help shape decisions that elevate both patient outcomes and the future of nursing.
What you will do in this role:
Coordinates nursing personnel to ensure adequate coverage on all nursing units.
Cognizant of the legal/ethical aspects of nursing practice and provides guidance to nursing staff during supervision of activities.
Informs Nursing administration of problems which may involve legal/ethical implications.
Frequently makes rounds throughout the shift.
Demonstrates the ability to perform and direct activities of the nursing staff in emergency situations.
Cognizant of potential problem-prone situations and intervenes to prevent adverse impact.
Briefs Nursing Administration regarding critically ill patients and/or other issues relating to delivery of patient care.
Informs and/oradvisesoncoming supervisors of situations which require special attention or follow-up.
Functions as a resourceinassistingphysicians, staff, patients, and families.
Initiates action in disciplinary situations anddocumentsproceedings.
Performs other duties/projects asrequiredina timely, cooperative, and positive manner.
This job constantly provides/delivers a service to patients.
Constantly receives, provides, clarifies or exchange information with patients’ families, other managers/directors outside and within the department,physiciansand other staff.
