    ARIZONA PIONEERS' HOME

    The Arizona Pioneers' Home is a continuing care retirement home operated and funded by the State of Arizona. The Home provides care and services to residents living independently, as well as to those requiring personal, assisted living, intermediate and skilled care.

    NURSING SUPPORT SERVICES

    Posting Details:

    Hourly Pay Rate: $20.00

    Grade: 12

    This position will remain open until business needs are met  

    Job Summary:

    This position answers to the Director of Nursing and encompasses various caregiving and clerical functions for the Pioneers' Home including serving as the main source of transportation and physical assistance for residents to and from their medical appointments, receiving supplies, serving as the assistant rehabilitation coordinator, and maintaining the Home's vehicle cleanliness.

    This position will also assist with caregiving within the building as needed, and the testing of backup drivers on other shifts.

    Job Duties:

    • Transporting and physically assisting residents to and from medical and other appointments and maintaining cleanliness of the Home's vehicles used for this purpose

    • Back up to ordering nursing office/lab supplies in order to maintain inventory; Serve as Central Supply receiving for the Home; Assist with DME and oxygen equipment

    • Assume oversight of the Activity House which includes rehabilitation assistant coordination and resident exercise equipment instruction

    • Quality assurance, quality improvement, and safety compliance

    • Caregiving as scheduled by the Department of Nursing

    • Other duties as assigned as related to the position

    Selective Preference(s):

    Required:

    • Certified Caregiver (will assist in obtaining certification if necessary)

    • Memory Care training as required by the State of Arizona

    • Level 1 State of Arizona Current Fingerprint Card

    • CPR/First Aid

    Preferred:

    • Demonstrated experience with the geriatric population; two or more years as a Certified Caregiver

    Pre-Employment Requirements:

    • Must be able to drive various types of vehicles including small sedans, wheelchair equipped van/bus, or other modes of transportation as needed

    • Current Arizona Drivers License with no violations and current auto insurance

    • Employee should have the ability to drive on a daily basis within the tri city area

    • Driving long distances may be necessary
