Description
The Nursing Technician Plus 3 supports the Registered Nurse through observing and documenting patient conditions. Working under close supervision, this role assists with patient support through progressive mobility and assistance with daily tasks as needed.
Essential Job Function
Supports patients with daily living tasks, including meals, personal care, and progressive mobility in order to support the recovery and plan of care.
Assesses patientsā quality of life related to nutrition, hydration, and elimination in order to distribute resources and anticipate patient needs.
Admits, transfers, and discharges patients in order to move them to the appropriate locations in line with the plan of care.
Assists with patient elimination needs, including ostomy care, enemas, and condom catheters to provide comfortable care for patients.
Helps to maintain unit inventories of supplies and equipment in order to ensure a clean and safe environment in adherence to the National Patient Safety Goals.
Checks that fall risk patients have the appropriate armbands, socks, and signage to ensure physical safety.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education
Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience
Required: 6 months of related experience.
Licensure/Certification/Listing
Required: BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider; Nurse Aide Certification required.
