The ETSU College of Nursing invites applications for a 9-month Lecturer position in the Department of Undergraduate Nursing Programs.
We seek innovative and dedicated nursing educators with a strong commitment to teaching, scholarship, practice, and service. Successful candidates will be expected to contribute primarily to teaching in the undergraduate nursing program and, dependent on academic preparation, qualifications, and department needs, may be asked to teach in graduate nursing programs. This position requires faculty to engage in classroom, lab, simulation, and clinical-based teaching, supporting the development of future nursing professionals.
The new faculty member will join a dynamic group of nursing educators with a strong commitment to student success through innovative evidence-based teaching strategies, inter-professional collaboration, and fostering an environment where every student feels valued and supported. This role requires regular, in-person attendance at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, TN. Candidates must be able to commute or relocate as needed.
Rank is determined at the time of hire. Candidates considered for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor must possess a terminal academic doctoral degree in nursing or related field by the start date and demonstrate the potential for research productivity. Some appointments may be eligible for tenure. Qualifications for a clinical track position at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor require a terminal degree in nursing or related field. Clinical track appointments may be convertible to tenure-track no later than the end of year three of the appointment. Faculty rank and track commensurate with education and experience.
Evening and weekend classes and clinicals may be required. Faculty may be assigned to work at any College of Nursing (CON) campus throughout the year. The main CON campus is in Johnson City, TN, and serves as the primary workstation for faculty. The CON also has two regional campuses, one in Sevierville and another in Kingsport. Faculty may be asked to teach at any campus to meet the needs of the CON.
