Position Overview

Our school district is seeking an energetic, organized, and community-minded Nutrition Services Coordinator to lead our school meal programs. In this role, you will manage our school kitchens, design healthy menus that students love, maintain strict food safety standards, and ensure state and federal compliance.

This position is primarily a school-year calendar but includes structured, predictable summer responsibilities to support our summer school students and community outreach program.

Schedule & Summer Structure

This position offers an excellent balance for those looking for a school-year schedule with limited, impactful summer hours:

  • School Year: Full-time, daily schedule aligning with the student academic calendar.

  • Summer School (June): Approximately 4 weeks of part-time hours to oversee breakfast/lunch during our morning summer school session.

  • Summer Meals Program (July - Mid-August): Oversight of our "Once-a-Week" community summer meal distribution program running for 6 consecutive weeks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program Management: Plan menus, order food/supplies, and oversee daily meal prep and service for breakfast and lunch programs (NSLP and SBP).

  • Compliance & Financials: Maintain accurate records for Wisconsin DPI state and federal meal claims, manage the food service budget, and ensure free/reduced lunch program accuracy.

  • Staff Leadership: Supervise, schedule, and support school kitchen staff, ensuring a positive and collaborative team environment.

  • Food Safety & Sanitation: Maintain a pristine environment adhering to local, state, and federal food safety regulations (HACCP principles).
