    Part-Time Position

    10 Hours Per Weeks / 52 Weeks Per Year

    Tuesday and Wednesday: 9:00am - 2:00pm

    Pay Rate: $17.26 - $21.32

    Pay Grade 12

     

    JOB SUMMARY:

    Provides coverage as needed at the Nutrition Sites and centers and support in the Nutrition Services administrative office. Carries out all duties according to Agency and Program policies and regulations. Provides support for all Nutrition Services programs: senior congregate meals, home-delivered meals, afterschool meal program, summer food meal program. Carries out special duties as assigned in support of program operations.

    JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Floater Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Provides coverage on a back-up/fill in, and/or temporary basis, and or special assignments as needed and scheduled including dining and activity centers, kitchen operations, office operations, delivery routes and other areas.
    • Carries out regular duties and responsibilities of the shift covered according to procedures and the job description of the position.
    • Completes required paperwork and forms during each shift covered.
    • Conducts pre-scheduled activities and events to assist regular staff or in the absence of regular staff.

    Special Projects/Assignments:

    • Carries out seasonal assignments as they arise such as Summer Food Service and After School Food Program.
    • Handles responsibilities of special projects and assignments.
    • Assists with program data bases including data entry, routine support and help-desk type troubleshooting and meeting other basic database/software needs.
    • Assists with training new staff and volunteers as assigned.
    • Assists with and/or provides coverage for special events, dinners and center activities.
    • Provides support during regulatory audits.
    • Provides back-up data entry and clerical support as assigned.

    Other:

    • Attends regularly scheduled staff meetings at least monthly; attends in-service trainings.
    • Utilizes the established chain of command in emergency situations for technical support.
    • Attends required trainings and in-services for skill enhancement and compliance.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    • Must be able to handle situations in a calm and effective manner.
    • Must have the ability to follow procedures, protocols, written and verbal instructions.
    • Must maintain a high degree of confidentiality; must exhibit professionalism and good judgment.
    • Must be able to interact with clients effectively in a warm, supportive, engaging and vibrant manner.
    • Must be flexible, organized creative.
    • Must be proficient in the use of computers and have proficient skills in a Microsoft platform.
    • Assists with and/or provides coverage for special events, dinners and center activities.
    • Must be able to lift in excess of 35 lbs.
    • Must successfully complete training, vehicle certification process and other required trainings.
    • Must have physical ability to carry out the responsibilities of the position with a variety of physical requirements.
    • Must have a valid NYS Driver's License with good driving record; must maintain certification to drive an Agency vehicle.
    • Must have knowledge of food service regulations, health department regulations and sanitation codes.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • High School Diploma or GED; and
    • At least one year of related experience.
    • Any equivalent combination of education, training, or experience.
