Position Overview
Assists with the preparation and service of school meals by performing food preparation, serving, dishwashing, cleaning, and stocking duties. Supports a safe, sanitary, and efficient kitchen environment while providing friendly service to students and staff and following district policies and food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with quality food prep according to monthly menus.
Work in coordination with the Kitchen Manager and the Production Cook.
Follow food safety guidelines in food preparation.
Assist during lunch service including preparing food, serving to students, and checking out students at the register as needed.
Check stock and place weekly orders according to the menu.
Provide support to all kitchen staff.
Provide ideas and solutions to help improve lunch service.
Provide excellent customer service to students.
Maintain a positive and friendly attitude toward staff and students.
Willingness to work in multiple schools with students from grades K-12.
Assist with the end of month and yearly end inventory process.
Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
Attend meetings, workshops and training sessions, as directed.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Previous kitchen experience preferred.
