Position Overview

Prepares and cooks large quantities of food according to standardized recipes and production schedules. Maintains food quality, follows food safety and sanitation standards, and works collaboratively to ensure meals are prepared accurately and on time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete quality food prep according to monthly menus.

  • Work in coordination with the Kitchen Manager and the Kitchen Assistant.

  • Follow food safety guidelines in food preparation.

  • Assist during lunch service including preparing food, serving to students, and checking out students at the register as needed.

  • Assist in end of day kitchen clean up.

  • Provide Kitchen Manager with a list of food and supplies needed for Grab and Go Items.

  • Provide ideas and solutions to help improve lunch service.

  • Provide excellent customer service to students.

  • Maintain a positive and friendly attitude toward staff and students.

  • Willingness to work in multiple schools with students from grades K-12.

  • Work with kitchen managers to complete the end of month and year-end inventory process.

  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs.

  • Attend meetings, workshops and training sessions, as directed.

  • Perform other related duties, as assigned.

Qualifications

Previous kitchen experience preferred.
