Nutrition Services Warehouse Lead

Reports to Warehouse Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Able to work independently with limited direct supervision.
• Effective organization skills demonstrated by the ability to prioritize and organize daily work schedules.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Ability to speak, read, and understand the English language.
• Experience in the use of computer programs: Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Physically able to operate a 4000-pound fork truck and battery-operated pallet jack.
• Demonstrate good math skills; be able to work with inventory quickly and accurately.
• Knowledge of operation and maintenance of equipment.
• Hold a valid Texas Drivers License Class B - COL with an acceptable driving record as established by the district.
• District employees will be given preference.

SALARY

• Pay Grade: 7
• $23.25
• Salary based on verifiable job-related experience as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Assist the Supervisor in the receipt of all shipments, process receiving discrepancy, and damage reports as needed.
• Move inventory to various locations manually by operating mechanical equipment, including forklift, pallet jack, and handcart.
• Load and unload the delivery truck by hand or with a pallet jack.
• Perform warehousing and maintain an accurate inventory of all equipment, supplies, and materials.
• Maintain computerized inventory records.
• Participate in semi-annual wall-to-wall and monthly items inventories.
• Participate in equipment movement, storage, and disposal.
• Supervise and document the performance of employees assigned to the warehouse.
• Provide continual training, motivation, and direction to employees.
• Responsible for the cleanliness and organization of the warehouse and dock areas.
• Ensure that all equipment, facility, and personal sanitation procedures are followed.
• The Food Handlers certification must be current and updated as required.
• Monitor and enforce the safety standards of the department, administer training programs, and report all accidents.
• Project a professional image in appearance and personal conduct. Utilize a positive, professional, proactive, and innovative approach to work.
• Enforce all District and Department Policies and Procedures.
• Support the Nutrition Services Department with regular and reliable attendance.
• Occasional overtime is necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Warehouse Supervisor, Warehouse Manager, Assistant Director of Nutrition Services, Logistics, or Nutrition Services Director.
