Summary

The Colville School District is now accepting applications for a Nutritional Specialist.

Essential Duties

This position is responsible for performing a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Food preparation while maintaining quality standards
  • Ensuring proper sanitation and cleanliness
  • Cooking, baking, and serving meals
  • Record keeping, keyboarding, and computer data entry
  • Cash receipting, handling, and reconciliation
  • Maintaining necessary supplies to perform assigned duties
  • Kitchen and cafeteria housekeeping and cleanup

Qualifications

  • A favorable reporting of state and national background check is required.
  • Must have a high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
  • Must obtain and maintain a valid Washington State or Tri County Health District Food Worker Card prior to the first scheduled workday.
  • This is an entry-level position; prior experience in a similar role is preferred, but training will be provided.
  • Ability to learn components necessary for federal meal reimbursement compliance.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work as part of a team and use effective communication skills.
  • Demonstrates responsibility, flexibility, and adaptability.
  • Must take initiative and be punctual and dependable.
  • Must have a neat, clean appearance and good personal hygiene.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and interact positively with school-age children.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to operate a computer at an entry level.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and emails.
  • Ability to write clear and concise correspondence.
  • Ability to present information effectively in one-on-one and small group settings to school staff.
  • Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, ratios, and percentages.
  • Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills to respond promptly to immediate situations.
