About the Position

Provide exceptional customer service and quality care to WIC applicants and participants by determining program eligibility, conducting nutrition assessments, assigning nutritional risks, and providing individualized nutrition education and counseling. Collect and assess required health measurements, maintain accurate participant records, schedule and follow up on appointments, and provide referrals to community resources. Ensure the security and accountability of eWlC cards, properly document and dispose of returned formula, maintain required reports and inventory logs, and comply with federal regulations, agency policies, processing standards, and productivity requirements. Perform other duties as assigned to support efficient clinic operations.

What youll need to be Successful

Ability to conduct nutrition assessments, identify nutrition risks, provide individualized nutrition education and counseling, and assist participants in goal setting using motivational interviewing techniques. Strong customer service, communication, organizational, and documentation skills. Proficiency in electronic health record systems (SPIRIT) and Microsoft Office. Ability to maintain confidentiality, manage multiple priorities, and work effectively with diverse populations in a collaborative healthcare environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Typically requires a Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant discipline and 0-3 years of experience as a Nutritionist.

Paid Personal Leave and Sick Leave

Full-time employees receive paid time off for personal needs and for sick leave. Leave begins accruing after one month of employment and may be used as it is accrued. Employees earn approximately 18 days of personal leave annually and 12 days of sick leave annually.

In accordance with federal law, all employees serving in the armed forces or the military reserves are entitled to 15 days per year for military training.
