Wage Rate: $16.30

Job Summary:

Assistant Gardeners will organize, maintain and expand existing garden spaces as well as operate, stock and maintain the campus Food Bank. Tasks within the Boxer Food Share would include sweeping, cleaning, organizing and stocking spaces dedicated to food and food preparation. Tasks within the garden spaces would include watering, weeding, planting, mowing, giving tours, using a wheelbarrow, digging and irrigation maintenance.

Qualified candidates should posses the following:

  • Strong work ethic,

  • Ability to work in groups,
  • Ability to work alone,
  • Ability to interact with the public,
  • Takes direction well and a have a positive attitude.
  • Applicants should be able to lift 25 lb,
  • Stand for extended periods, and kneel for extended periods.

A candidate should be willing to work on their stand for a reasonable amount of time as well as kneel for extended periods. An Assistant Gardener will need to Start no later than 9am, work in the soil, lift objects weighing at least 30 pounds, Posses the ability to work alone or in groups, and the ability to interact with the greater community.
