Job Title: NX Programmer

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced NX Programmer to support design and manufacturing activities by developing precise 3D models, toolpaths, and technical drawings. In this role, you translate complex engineering requirements into manufacturable components using Siemens NX in a collaborative engineering and production environment. You focus exclusively on programming, providing expert-level support for new machinery installation and ongoing manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize CNC programs using Siemens NX to support design and manufacturing requirements.
  • Create and refine 3D models, toolpaths, and technical drawings that translate engineering specifications into manufacturable components.
  • Provide offline programming support, ensuring programs are accurate, efficient, and aligned with production standards.
  • Support the installation and commissioning of new machinery for a launcher platform by delivering robust programs and technical input.
  • Collaborate closely with internal tool designers, manufacturing engineers, programmers, quality teams, and shop floor personnel to ensure seamless production.
  • Troubleshoot programming and machining issues, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Develop and refine post-processors to ensure compatibility and optimal performance with installed machinery.
  • Contribute to tooling design activities and ensure toolpaths are appropriate for multi-axis milling operations.
  • Maintain clear documentation for programs, processes, and revisions to support traceability and continuous improvement.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to colleagues on programming best practices and machining strategies.

Essential Skills

  • Senior-level experience in CAM programming, with approximately 15+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Extensive Siemens NX experience, including advanced programming for complex parts and assemblies.
  • At least 10+ years of offline programming experience, with a strong focus on precision and efficiency.
  • Proficiency in multi-axis mill programming, including complex toolpath generation and optimization.
  • Strong understanding of tooling design principles and their application in CNC programming.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, models, and specifications and translate them into manufacturable programs.
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting skills for programming and machining issues in a production environment.
  • Effective collaboration and communication skills for working with engineering, quality, and shop floor teams.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with SolidWorks is a strong plus for supporting 3D modeling and design activities.
  • A degree is preferred and supports success in this role, particularly in engineering or a related technical field.
  • Experience supporting installation and ramp-up of new machinery or production lines.
  • Familiarity with post-process development for CNC machines.
  • Background in launcher platforms or similar advanced manufacturing environments is beneficial.

Work Environment

This role offers a standard 40-hour work week, with the potential for approximately 5 hours of overtime weekly depending on business needs. You may choose between a 5 x 8-hour schedule or a 4 x 9-hour schedule with a half day on Friday, providing flexibility in how you structure your work week. Core working hours are 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., supporting consistent collaboration with engineering, quality, and shop floor teams. You work on-site alongside internal tool designers, manufacturing engineers, programmers, quality professionals, and production personnel in a hands-on manufacturing environment focused on new machinery for a launcher platform. There is no travel required for this role, and some level of hybrid flexibility may be available due to office space constraints, depending on business needs and coordination with the team.
