Private family seeks an exceptionally polished, hospitality-focused Butler / Cook to support the day-to-day operations, service, and upkeep of their New York City and Hamptons residences. This is a highly hands-on role for a service-oriented professional who takes pride in creating a warm, welcoming, impeccably maintained home environment while providing elevated front-of-house support and light cooking assistance.
This role is primarily based in New York City with a Hamptons extension during the summer season. The candidate will provide hospitality support, light cooking and meal preparation, housekeeping assistance, and overall household operations across both residences throughout the year. The typical schedule will consist of Thursday through Monday, with flexibility required based on the family’s entertaining needs, travel, and seasonal demands. Live-in accommodations will be provided during the Hamptons summer season.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Hospitality & Front-of-House Service
- Provide polished yet warm hospitality service for family members and guests
- Assist with formal and informal meal service, entertaining, and special gatherings
- Maintain guest-facing spaces to impeccable standards and anticipate household needs
- Support the household team wherever needed during busy periods and events
- Housekeeping, Household & General Support
- Maintain overall cleanliness, organization, and presentation of the residences
- Assist with housekeeping tasks including tidying, laundry coordination, organization, and household upkeep
- Ensure kitchens, pantries, and common areas remain clean, stocked, and guest-ready
- Assist with seasonal transitions between NYC and Hamptons residences
- Support household logistics including deliveries, vendor access, errands, and occasional chauffeuring
- Cooking & Meal Preparation
- Prepare light meals, breakfasts, lunches, snacks, and simple family-style dinners
- Assist with meal prep, grocery organization, pantry management, and kitchen upkeep
- Support food service and entertaining needs
- Additional butler and housekeeping responsibilities and needed and requested
Requirements:
- Strong command of English language; outstanding writing and verbal skills
- Excellent references from both current and former employers
- Prior experience working within a private household, luxury hospitality, yacht, club, or similar high-service environment required
- High level of discretion, professionalism, emotional intelligence, and commitment to confidentiality
- Strong hospitality and service instincts with a polished yet approachable demeanor
- Comfortable performing a combination of service, housekeeping, cooking, and household support responsibilities
- Experience with formal and informal table service preferred
- Ability to prepare healthy, simple, high-quality meals and assist with meal prep
- Highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented
- Flexible, adaptable, and team-oriented with a positive attitude
- Strong communication skills and ability to take direction well
- Valid Driver’s License; confident driver with zero points
- Comfortable working in both NYC and Hamptons environments with seasonal schedule shifts
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer
Compensation: $120,000–$140,000 annually, commensurate with experience
