NYS Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Qualifications/Skills: 

• Current LPN license in good standing in the state of New York;
• Graduation from an accredited LPN program;
• Minimum of [1-3] years of clinical experience, preferably in pediatrics, family practice, or internal medicine is preferred;
• Current CPR/BLS Certification;
• Proficiency in EHR systems. (Medent);
• Exceptional Bedside Manner: Compassionate and patient-focused, with the ability to calm anxious children and their parents;
• Multi-Tasking: Ability to work in a fast-paced setting, managing patient flow and provider needs efficiently;
• Attention to Detail: Meticulous documentation of lab results, immunization logs, and patient symptoms;
• Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with other nurses, medical assistants, and physicians.

Key responsibilities include:

• Clinical Support: Room patients, take and record accurate vital signs (height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature), and document health histories in the Electronic Health Record.
• Vaccines and Medications: Administer immunizations and medications to pediatric and adult patients according to physician orders.
• Procedures: Assist providers with minor surgical procedures, wound care, dressing changes, and diagnostic tests.
• Laboratory Services: Perform Lead collection, finger sticks and collect laboratory specimens (urine, swabs) for processing.
• Patient Education: Educate families and adults on care plans, follow-up, and wellness.
• Triage: Triage patient calls and walk-ins to determine urgency.
• Office Flow: Maintain exam rooms with necessary supplies and sanitize equipment.
