Clinical Practice in Obstetrics & Gynecology | NO NIGHT CALL | Leadership Role in Residency Program

Our organization is on the lookout for a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible OB/GYN to take on the role of Associate Program Director (APD) for an upcoming community-based OB/GYN Residency Program, set to commence in Summer 2027. This position merges significant educational leadership with clinical practice in OB/GYN within a supportive, hospital-employed framework. Clinical responsibilities are backed by a collaborative generalist OB/GYN team and a dedicated OB/GYN Hospitalist team, ensuring no night call and promoting a healthy work-life balance.

The Role

The Associate Program Director will collaborate closely with the Program Director to enhance the educational, operational, and cultural aspects of the residency program while maintaining an active clinical role.

This position includes dedicated time for residency leadership tasks, which encompass:

  • Assisting the Program Director with residency administration, curriculum development, and program enhancements.

  • Engaging in and promoting scholarly activities and quality improvement initiatives with institutional research backing.

  • Contributing to program operations and compliance through committee participation, evaluation processes, faculty development, and recruitment efforts.

  • Instructing and mentoring OB/GYN residents and medical students in various settings, including inpatient, outpatient, Labor & Delivery, and surgical environments.

  • Providing supervised clinical education and constructive feedback during routine patient interactions.

  • Fostering a positive, hands-on learning atmosphere rooted in community-based practice.

  • Shared daytime in-hospital call rotation (NO NIGHT CALL).

Clinical Scope & Subspecialty Support

All major women’s health subspecialties are readily accessible, including:

  • Maternal-Fetal Medicine.

  • Gynecologic Oncology.

  • Urogynecology.

  • Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility (in collaboration with regional partners).

This integrated system facilitates seamless referrals and comprehensive, patient-centered care.

Women’s Pavilion & Comprehensive Hospital Facilities

In-hospital care is provided at the Carol Jenkins Barnett Pavilion for Women and Children, an eight-story, state-of-the-art facility designed for compassionate, family-centered care, featuring:

  • Comprehensive services for women and children.

  • A dedicated OB Emergency Department.

  • A dedicated Children’s Emergency Department.

  • Level III NICU with 24/7 support from neonatologists and NICU teams.

  • 24/7 anesthesia services dedicated to OB.

  • Specialized Women’s OR suites with expert surgical teams.

  • Da Vinci Xi robotic systems (robotics available but not mandatory).

This position is ideal for OB/GYN professionals who:

  • Are board certified/board eligible through ABMS or AOA and possess a current Florida medical license or the ability to obtain one.

  • Prefer a primarily clinical OB/GYN practice.
