Job Title: OB Registered Nurse (Labor & Delivery / Postpartum)
Location:Machias, Maine
Shift: Day Shift – 3x12 Hours
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Weekly Gross Pay: $2,800 – $3,000/week based on experience
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced OB Registered Nurse for a 13-week contract assignment in Machias, Maine. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive nursing care for obstetric patients across Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Nursery, Antepartum, and Post-Operative GYN settings.
Responsibilities
- Provide individualized nursing care for OB patients throughout antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, nursery, and post-op GYN care
- Monitor maternal and fetal wellbeing during labor and delivery
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as ordered
- Assist physicians during labor, delivery, and obstetric procedures
- Educate patients and families regarding childbirth, recovery, and newborn care
- Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation
- Manage OB unit supplies and equipment appropriately
- Collaborate effectively with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Follow hospital policies, patient safety standards, and confidentiality guidelines
Requirements
- Active RN License required
- Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience required
- Previous OB/Labor & Delivery experience required
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Basic computer proficiency required
Required Certifications
- BLS
- ACLS
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- STABLE Certification
