Job Title: OB Surgical Technician / Obstetrical Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated OB Surgical Technician / Obstetrical Technician to assist healthcare providers during labor, delivery, recovery, and obstetrical surgical procedures. The technician will prepare operating and patient care areas, maintain sterile technique, assist with surgical procedures, support patient care before and after delivery or surgery, and help ensure safe, efficient, and compassionate care for mothers and newborns.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED preferred

  • Associate's or Technical Degree preferred

  • Surgical Technician or Obstetrical Technician certification preferred

  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

  • Knowledge of sterile technique, infection prevention, and patient care practices

  • Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patient rooms, delivery suites, and operating rooms for procedures

  • Maintain sterile fields and assist with surgical setup using aseptic technique

  • Assist physicians and nurses during labor, delivery, cesarean sections, and obstetrical surgeries

  • Prepare, position, transport, transfer, and discharge patients safely

  • Assist with patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures

  • Collect specimens and record patient observations, vital signs, and intake/output as assigned

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living and personal care

  • Participate in surgical safety protocols, including procedural timeouts

  • Maintain supplies, equipment, and cleanliness of patient care areas

  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned
