## Job Title: Obstetrical Technician (OB Technician)

### Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Obstetrical Technician (OB Technician) to assist the healthcare team in providing patient care during labor, delivery, recovery, and obstetrical surgical procedures. The OB Technician will perform surgical scrub duties, prepare operating and patient care areas, assist with obstetrical procedures, support patient care before and after surgery, and help maintain a safe, sterile environment.

### Requirements:

* High School Diploma or GED preferred
* Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
* Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required
* Surgical Technician or Obstetrical Technician certification preferred
* Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification
* Knowledge of sterile techniques, obstetrical procedures, and patient care practices
* Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills

### Key Responsibilities:

* Assist with patient care during labor, delivery, recovery, and obstetrical surgical procedures.
* Prepare patient rooms and operating rooms for obstetrical procedures.
* Set up sterile instruments and supplies using proper aseptic techniques.
* Assist surgeons, nurses, and the surgical team during operative procedures.
* Participate in surgical time-outs and maintain sterile fields throughout procedures.
* Assist nursing staff with patient preparation, positioning, transport, transfers, and discharge.
* Collect urinalysis (UA) specimens and record maternal vital signs, weight, height, and intake/output measurements.
* Provide personal care and assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs).
* Maintain adequate supplies and assist with room turnover following procedures.
* Ensure patient safety and maintain accurate documentation as required.
* Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
