We are thrilled to present a remarkable opportunity for exceptional Laborists to join our Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Sciences. Our organization is among the largest and most comprehensive healthcare systems in Connecticut, renowned for its advanced clinical services, commitment to quality, cost-effectiveness, and dedication to enhancing the health of the communities we serve.

As a member of our proficient maternity care team, you will collaborate with board-certified physicians, nationally certified nurses, midwives, and specialists in high-risk pregnancies. Qualified Laborists will hold full-time positions at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor within the Academic Clinician track. Our medical team works closely with obstetricians, utilizing state-of-the-art technology to provide exceptional care in the Labor and Delivery Unit. Each year, our experienced team of doctors and nurses assists in bringing nearly 2,600 new lives into the world!

Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive obstetric care, including surgical and operative vaginal deliveries.
  • Collaborate effectively with certified nurse midwives and participate in clinical research initiatives.
  • Monitor laboring patients and manage the delivery of unassigned patients.
  • Maintain a strong focus on patient safety and effective communication with both patients and attending physicians.
  • Work flexible 12-hour shifts, ranging from 2 to 4 days per week.
Qualifications:
  • Board certified or eligible in general obstetrics and gynecology.
  • Demonstrated excellence in evidence-based obstetric care and teaching.
  • Proven surgical skills and experience in operative vaginal deliveries.
  • Strong communication abilities with a focus on patient safety.
Education and Training:
  • Medical Degree: Must possess an MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
  • Residency: Completion of an accredited residency program in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
