Observability Engineer Network Observability Pyramid Level: P3C Experience: 6+ years in Network Monitoring, Observability or Network Operations Job Summary
The Observability Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing and continuously improving network observability capabilities across large enterprise environments. The role focuses on ensuring complete visibility of network infrastructure, accurate topology, meaningful alerting, telemetry collection and service health monitoring.
The engineer works closely with network operations teams to improve observability coverage, reduce alert noise and accelerate fault isolation.
Responsibilities
Design and implement enterprise network observability solutions.
Build integrations with monitoring platforms, telemetry sources, ITSM systems and notification services.
Develop custom collectors, API integrations and automation for telemetry ingestion.
Ensure completeness and accuracy of network topology, inventory and service models.
Continuously identify observability gaps and improve monitoring coverage.
Implement event correlation, topology-aware alert enrichment and service impact analysis.
Develop automation to validate monitoring quality and configuration consistency.
Support health-state computation and root cause analysis.
Work closely with Network Operations and Engineering teams to improve monitoring effectiveness.
Develop dashboards and operational analytics for network health, performance and user experience.
