What You’ll Do
Evaluate and manage patients in the Obstetric Emergency Department (OBED)
Monitor labor and interpret fetal heart tracings
Perform vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections
Serve as the primary safety net for labor and delivery
Provide consults for pregnancy and gynecologic concerns to ED and inpatient teams
Respond to obstetrical emergencies and complications
Participate in emergency drills and quality improvement initiatives focused on maternal and neonatal outcomes
Follow evidenced-based protocols to ensure patient safety and quality care
What You Need
MD or DO with current Texas Medical License or willingness to obtain
Board certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology
Recent experience in delivery and surgical procedures, including cesareans and emergency obstetrical interventions
Strong skills in labor management, fetal monitoring, and emergency response
About the Assignment Join a team at a reputable facility with approximately 1,500 births annually, equipped with a Level III NICU, private maternity suites, and dedicated antepartum areas for high-risk pregnancies. Work alongside specialists including neonatologists, anesthesiologists, OB/GYN hospitalists, and certified nurse midwives, providing comprehensive obstetric care in a supportive environment.
