    Job Summary:

    Erlanger Health System is seeking a PRN Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to support the Employee Health Clinic. The provider will deliver comprehensive occupational and employee health services to Erlanger team members, helping to promote workforce wellness, workplace safety, regulatory compliance, and quality patient care. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a collaborative approach to caring for employees across a diverse healthcare system.

    The provider will also participate in immunization programs, communicable disease surveillance, exposure evaluations, and wellness initiatives. Accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record is required, along with adherence to all applicable regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards. The Occupational Health NP/PA will serve as a resource for employees regarding injury prevention, occupational health concerns, and return-to-work recommendations.

    Education:

    Required:

    For Nurse Practitioner candidates, graduation from an accredited Master's or Doctoral Nurse Practitioner program is required. For Physician Assistant candidates, graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program with a Master's degree is required.

    Current Tennessee licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant, as applicable, is required. National certification and current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification are also required. DEA registration is preferred, if applicable to the scope of practice.

    Experience:

    Required:

    Minimum of two (2) years clinical experience required.

    Preferred:

    Occupational Health and/or Wellness experience preferred.

    Required:

    Current license / certification to practice in the State of Tennessee

    The Nurse Licensure Compact will not change how to obtain or renew a Tennessee license. However, the Tennessee nursing license will be a single state license for Tennessee Residents or non-compact state residents. Tennessee licensure or multistate licensure from a compact state must be obtained within three months of hire for non-Tennessee residents.

    Department Position Summary:

    The Practitioner will practice within the field of occupational medicine under then supervision of Medical Director. The Practitioner will work in collaboration with Workforce Corporation Health Services Medical Director and Director in providing occupational health services to client companies. Range of services is set forth in a written protocol developed jointly and signed by the Practitioner and the supervising physician. General activities will be in the evaluation and treatment of patients for injury and illness. Preliminary care to employees of client companies will also be required of the Practitioner. Practitioner will be involved in all aspects of the occupational medicine practice including but not limited to: pre-employment physicals, surveillance examinations, preventative healthcare practices and on-site occupational health services. Practitioner must have the ability to tailor specific wellness initiatives for Workforce clients. Must interact with employees and learn their specific needs to help with the safety and health of the employees. Must uphold high ethical standards and practice within the scope of practice set forth in the written protocol. Complete records in a timely manner.
